Description of Women's Association

Dues are $60 per year (add $10 per child 2 years and over that are involved in the Children’s activities such as the Halloween and Easter parties). Members receive discounted tickets for an annual holiday party and invitations to SWA special events throughout the year.

The SWA Board meets each year to discuss the upcoming year’s activities. Then, the committees meet as needed during the year to plan special events. These committees are open to all of the ladies in Stablewood!

We have many types of clubs and committees. Please take a moment to look through the list and join us! We’d love to have your participation.

Book Club:
Members meet from Noon to 2 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, September through May, to discuss the book of the month and enjoy a light lunch together. Members host in their homes.

Bulletin Board:
Posts SWA activities monthly on the board by the front exit.

Caring Committee:
Supports neighbors at times of illness, injury, and other life-challenging situations.

Children’s Committee:
Members organize special events for the children of Stablewood, such as the Halloween party and the Easter Egg Hunt.

Gourmet Club:
Currently, we have one group with six couples. They meet four times a year for dinner. Members take turns hosting in their homes.

Maintains a photographic record of events in the neighborhood.

Holiday Decorations:
Plan and maintain the neighborhood’s holiday decorations.

Investment Club:
Members partner in a stock market portfolio. They take turns hosting in restaurants or in their homes on the first Wednesday of each month at 11 a.m. to discuss companies in the portfolio, evaluate possible trades and enjoy lunch together. They also have a stock-picking contest every year.

Needlepoint Club:
Members meet from noon to 2 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month to socialize, enjoy a light lunch and stitch. Projects include needlepoint, cross stitch, knitting and other craft projects.

Welcoming Committee:
Welcome new neighbors and familiarize them with our great neighborhood!

Wine & Cheese Socials:
Casual evening event held in homes in the neighborhood.
